African Twig & The Herbal Home Project: Return to Nature

$ 1 Needed Donation

Since the beginning of time, humans the world over, have had to non-destructively look deep into the natural world for self sustaining nutrients and healing herbs in maintaining good health. Today, in our cold, synthetic-laced, city abode, it’s quite easy to sometimes forget that dental hygene used to only be herbal-twigs “chewing stick”, used by our ancestors worldwide, for thousands of years

More so for preventing dental diseases than curative, “chewing sticks” are herbal twigs with frayed ends used as dental scrubs with tons of health benefits rarely found in tooth-pastes. The best herbal twigs are believed to be made from the twigs of the West African Orange Tree, the Neem Tree, Ironweed (Vernonia), Liquorice, Walnut Trees, and other trees with bitter roots. However, ancient tales in the tribal villages also have it that the most sort after chewing sticks are made from the Salvadore Persica Tree (also known as the toothbrush tree). It does not only make teeth stronger, it also reduces plaque and mouth odour.

HERBAL HOME PROJECT IN AFRICA

Inspired by the herbal “chewing sticks” and the untapped potencial of largely unknown natural herbs in Africa, we will soon be going for an ambitious project of building a herbal health facility primarily dedicated to the physically ill, mental patients, youths sexual health and family planning

Healing homes that largely employ the use of nature’s abundant herbs from the forests are nearly all but gone. We are going to be rigorously pursuing funding, geared towards erecting a modest herbal health facility which will rekindle an old reliable knowledge that lends itself to trusting the invaluable gifts from mother nature in helping the human family

The African Angel UK, initially will be focusing on shooting an informative documentary on our herbal home pursuit. Our documentary will focus on slowly bringing back the herbal twig, aka “chewing stick” used as dental care by rural villagers in Africa and indigenous communities worldwide, as we move to the grand project of building a herbal health care facility dedicated to youths sexual health, family planning and the physically and mentally ill. The documentary will also show vulnerable patients abandoned in the streets, a tragic reality in Africa and the Caribbean

The African Angel UK Herbal Home: Riding on the anticipated success of the documentary, we will eventually launch this symbolic funding for the building of a herbal treatment facility which will give the less priviledged and vulnerable a badly needed alternative

Our excitement with recalling the past in the building of the herbal treatment home is not just because of the medicinal value and the self-sustaining power this reconnection to nature brings to the economy of local communities, but the awareness that humans worldwide and all living creatures on planet Earth are indeed intertwined.

The African Angel will be positively showing all these in our documentaries and fund raiser as we lead this healthy reconnection to the past that the human family have almost lost.
