African “Two-Spirits”, aka LGBT

$ 1 Needed Donation

The inexplicable phenomenon of people with “the strange sexuality” was never an issue, nor were they mocked and abhorred in ancient Africa. Though this crucial knowledge seems almost forgotten, LGBT persons were once culturally described as physical beings with “Two Spirits” in old African societies.

Today, with the modern world employing every other yardstick but the ancient cultural denominators of spiritual vibrations to make sense of the deeper purpose of the existence of these unique souls on earth, non heterosexual persons, aka LGBT+, are now, to a large extent, classified with a subtle hint of ridicule. Dehumanizing phrases like,” The confused people with a thousand alphabets”, or ” It’s Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve”, are standard derogatory remarks

In countries where minds have been heavily muddled and reprogrammed via modern religion, any sight of the harmless LGBT+ alphabets, trigger nothing but disgust and aggression, and often times in climates overran by religious zealots, government backed mob violence can be expected

Sexual minorities regardless of skin color, are the target of opportunists and the ill informed worldwide; and sadly where Black ” Two Spirits” are concerned, encounters, depending on location, could often turn deadly.

The alarming belief by many is that sexuality falls within the realms of “choice and preference”: Azu Ekpo

Be it in Uganda in east Africa, Jamaica in the Caribbean to Jos Plateau in Nigeria, not to mention Mali and Malawi to Papua New Guinea in Oceania, African “Two Spirits” and their fellow “Two Spirit” persons of African descent worldwide are dealing with what can only be described as a silent holocaust. From severely brainwashed family members to hostile friends and acquaintances fed with same misinformation, existing as a “Two Spirit” Black person, is the new invincible battle a sizeable proportion of the African global family must deal with on the daily.

The African Angel non profit will be drawing attention to these tragic situations and making it a priority as we try to help undo damages inflicted upon this vulnerable demographics. Though invincible, the psychological trauma can remain permanent, with more than half “Two Spirits” persons contemplating suicide often times in their lives.

African “Two Spirits” persons worldwide are vulnerable to attacks, blackmail and most times ostracised by family and friends. Their lives and minds constantly under threat both in their African communities and the larger society
